Couvetier suggests you talk to someone you trust before you send cash, or personal information to any unknown party.
There are people who still haven't heard of this? Wow....

Well, you know the old saying; "There's a sucker born every minute"; look how many people believe all the trash that comes out of politicians mouths. You know "a chicken in every pot", "A Government Motors" in every garage", "Free Medical Care"; the list is endless.

And isn't it just a crying shame the way people see fit to take advantage of that.... What a disgrace.

The most recent spam e-mail scam advertises free tickets to see Oprah and have the opportunity to win 1 million dollars.
There's no such thing as something for nothing.
I had a phone call a few weeks ago asking for personal info. When I asked for a return phone call number, the person hung up.

Variations on the Oprah scam have been going on for years. It's been written up in the local Chicago papers repeatedly. It's not new.

At least the car warranty scams seem to be declining. At one point I was getting 3 calls a day on my cell phone from these people.
My half-blind 80-year-old mother, who has no car, kept getting them, too. It was a couple related companies located outside St. Louis. They were shut down by the FCC.
Thank goodness they were put out of business! My 10 year old was getting calls from them, too.
I work at a bank and people are bringing these things in to us all the time. They're getting a LITTLE better... but there's always so many red flags still it should still be suspicious enough to catch... even by the average person.....
my opinion tho lol
