"I walked down the hall and I saw two guys at the door and window," Josh, home alone at the time, later told Fox 2.

A trained hunter and fan of the Military Channel, he ran to his bedroom to grab weapons

Smart kid!! I've always said there are great shows on cable/satellite TV.

Of course, let us hope he also called police from his cell...

No doubt, and my kids enjoy watching the Military Channel. I took all of my boys to the local gun store and they were looking at various models of rifles, assault rifles, pistol, etc. The owner asked if it was okay if the kids could see and touch the weapons. I said no problem. Each child inspected the weapon, open the chamber to ensure it was not loaded, made sure it was on safe, and then kept the weapon pointed down range. When the owner asked if they had any questions, each child asked about specific weapons and if he had in the back any WW2 weapons. So they rambled off each type of weapon and the guy would go back into the safe, pull something out, and let them look at it.

The owner of the store said, "these kids know more about weapons then some of the adults who come into this store on a daily basis. How do they know so much?"

I said, "playing Call of Duty World at War and Call of Duty Modern Warfare on the XBOX 360 and watching a lot of the military channel."

I am sure someone will say something to the effect, "why was the child exposed to weapons? what are they teaching kids on the military channel?"

He better watch out, I am sure the intruder he shot in the face may attempt to sue this kid's family for use of "excessive force".

Good job kid, you defended your home and didn't have to take another person's life. I am sure if they intruders did attempt to rush this kid, they would have been taken down by a 20 gauge shotgun. Your parents taught proper weapons safety, I am sure the anti-gun crew will try to warp this around some how. "The intruders were just looking to steal a few items because they were poor, lack of education, in need of a hug from their parents, social class differences, and lack of ecomomic progress, forced these people to break into this kid's house. Etc etc.

This story would have been more funny if the kid had shot one of them in the face with the Airsoft gun and they had gotten angry, turned, and shot him in the face with a REAL gun.

It would be like the old Crocodile Dundee "this is a knife" bit.

I just got a mental image of Joe Pesci taking a BB to the face.

I commend the parents in teaching good judgement to their son. I commend the teen for staying calm and fearless and sure..

Good for him! He thought it out and chose not to kill. It gives me some hope for our country when there are kids like this around.
