Investigators said the suspects were arrested after they responded in person to an ad placed on Craigslist. The posting, by a non-existent parent or family member, offered sex with a young girl.
One of those arrested was a youth baseball coach.
The arrests are the result of a four-day operation. The suspects communicated with investigators via email and were told to come to a Polk County home.
Several of the suspects showed up at the undercover home with Skittles, candy bars and condoms, expecting to meet girls as young as 8-years old. One suspect brought Vodka and Red Bull, said Polk County Sheriff Grady Judd.
"It's still a shock to me when we have predators show up with condoms in one hand and candy bars in the other," he said.
Judd said one of those arrested has six children, with another on the way. He went on to say another suspect had indicated that sex with a child was "what he had waited a lifetime for."
The suspects range in age from 18 to 67. They showed up at the home from throughout central and west-central Florida.
This is not the first child sex sting by the Polk Sheriff's Office, which has used different tactics to capture alleged predators in the past.

This is becoming a huge problem on "Craigs List", they are being encouraged by the authorities to take down the "Adult Services" site (or whatever they call it).
It is a huge revenue producer for CL, but if they don't address this problem and bite the bullet re; the revenue, it will cost them a lot more in the long run. Because the adverse publicity against the site is mounting, which will open the door for a competitor like "Angies List" to step in and pick up unhappy CL users.
On the other hand, as I think about it, ......... it is a great tool for the cops, it enables them to "sting" these sick bast*rds, and take them off the street, while publicizing the arrest as an additional deterrent.
However, all things considered .....the site should come down. The cops will have to use other means to catch these guys. And parents need to monitor their kids on-line activities more closely.
My daughter has a rule; she is to know my 12 yr old granddaughters password for her Facebook and MySpace log-ins, and don't think for one minute that she doesn't check everyday, to see what messages the kid is posting and who she's posting them with.

Excuse me while I go vomit. I can't understand, I just don't get it, why do people want to prey on the innocence of a child? These men should never see daylight for the rest of their pathetic lives. I'm being nice today with that last sentence. Scum! Also, I think their pictures should be plastered all over the news. Make it public what a bunch of perverted creeps they are. Let their communities know what kind of person lives next door, or who's really teaching their kids to play baseball, etc.
