KANSAS CITY— Kansas City/St. Joseph Bishop Robert W. Finn released a statement Friday, expressing regret that the diocese didn't contact police for a full investigation after Fr. Shawn Ratigan's computer containing child porn was discovered in December 2010.

Described by Bishop Finn as "a popular priest," Ratigan has been arrested and charged with three counts of felony child pornography possession.
In the statement, Bishop Finn describes how he was notified in December that Ratigan had images of children at parish events, including some that were "disturbing" and included an unclothed child.
