Jason Montia Nesbitt, 32, is behind bars after police say he was hiding about 87 grams of heroin inside a baby's diaper. An infant was in the car during the traffic stop. The infant shares the suspect's last name, but police have not said if Nesbitt is the baby's father.
According to an North Charleston police incident report, officers pulled over Nesbitt's 2033 Chevy Avalanche after it crossed a double white line on Interstate 26. Nesbitt was driving the car and officers observed a 35-year-old woman in the backseat with an infant.
Police say Nesbitt seemed nervous during the traffic stop so the officer conducted a search of the vehicle with his consent. A K-9 picked up the scent of an illegal odor.
