A physician's assistant there told officers that Grant had brought the baby into the emergency room because of a swollen left arm. The physician's assistant and a doctor allegedly told police the child had numerous fractures and possible nerve damage because of delayed medical attention.

They also told police that the injuries were not accidental.

Because of those injuries, the child was taken to Children's Hospital of Philadelphia where he underwent surgery and treatment.

The D.A. cited the criminal complaint saying Grant is charged with "intentionally, knowingly or recklessly" attempting to cause the death of her son. Police allege that Grant caused multiple fractures to the baby's arms and legs, caused bleeding by putting her fingers down the baby's throat and choked the child until he was unconscious.

When oh when will things change, that we can better protect these tiny little souls? I don't even have a clue where you'd start, other than wiping the vomit from your chin and flushing the toilet.

I have a 6 month old grandson that I just adore so stories like this break my heart. I can't imagine a child or infant doing anything in this world that would cause me to intentionally harm them.

This is just so sad. Why wasn't any of the child's extended family or family friends there to help this poor little baby?
