more info on arrest/ect...
LAKE WALES, Fla. -- A 14-year-old who took off with Jasper Smiddie -- who is accused of brutally murdering his grandmother -- was back at home Wednesday night and spoke out about why he left with him.
Charles Giem says he has been friends for years with Smiddie, but knew authorities would soon catch his friend. He wanted to spend time with him and also be there for support. The two were arrested in Highlands County after they left Tuesday morning.
"I know people may look at him as a murderer, psychopath. I look at him as my best friend, but with some issues," said Giem.

I'd say.. Attila the Hun had issues too...

It's gotta take a lot of hate to do all that... before going along with the put him down crowd, I'd be interrested to know if there are any mitigating circumstances...

The man might have a case if he had killed his uncle. Killing his grandmother to "inflict pain" on the uncle? Sounds cold-blooded, calculating and cowardly.

cold-blooded, calculating and cowardly no doubt, but that doesn't mean that there weren't mitigating circumstances.

Or perhaps a mental illness... I would think that a sane murderer would stop stabbing the victim once the victim is dead, or at least within a few minutes of being dead... 93 stabs means he had to be there for like 10 minutes after she was dead still stabbing away.
I'm not saying he should go to a nice cushy mental hospital or anything, just maybe need to look at all the facts before deciding on a suitable sentence.

Why a person does is it is irrelevant... the outcome is still the same... a person is dead due to the actions of a person..
..A trial is made up of facts.. all the prosecution has to prove is that he did it... he took an arrow shot into her.. and then stabbed the hell out of her 93 times... this is what they have to prove.. not that he may have a mental problem.. that's the defense...
I do not know of .. or heard of anyone killing someone and being sane.. one would have to nuts to kill someone in cold blood.
IF one falls off a wall and breaks their leg.. the outcome is the same the reason for it is not going to change the broken leg.

I see, so you're in favor of executing anyone that causes a car accident that kills someone? Also doctors that make mistakes that end with a patient's death?
Why a person does something is always relevant to the courts.
all the prosecution has to prove is that he did it
That will win a guilty verdict, usually, but more is necessary in the sentencing phase of a trial.

Well it happens all the time actually, the VAST majority of first degree murder cases occur with sane people.
You should sit through some criminal court cases sometime, it would be very eye-opening.

You are really stretching it ...
I"m for anyone that Kills a person in cold blood .. to put them down..
IF one can prove that a person did it.. that's all that counts.. of course your for pampering them.. let a few psychologist have their talk with them.. and give them the respect they do not deserve??? Give'em a beer.. maybe take them out to dinner.. and share an experience and talk with them???
Sane and Insane are all relative terms..

Considering all the evidence is "pampering them"? You know what? @!$%# it... I'm done talking to you. All you're interrested in is bloodshed and giving backhanded insults to anyone that thinks maybe the courts should do what they always do. You're not worth wasting another second talking to. Goodbye. Go troll somewhere else.

LOL !! A troll ? ... Gawd!!
No, I am a person who believes that if you cannot abide by society and it's laws.. and you go and kill an elderly person with an arrow and stab her 93 times.. the kid isn't worth a grain of salt.. and should be here after put to death.
Our prison system and jails are full because we have mampy pampy people that want to 'Talk' to them.. read them a bedside story.. comfort the predators & killers.. Where I'd like to see all child predators , killers specifically of children and the elderly die a slow and painful death.
...and certainly this conversation was not worth the meltdown you displayed.. and the inflammatory insults you said to me.. I've been called worse ..and after 65 years.. too many to count... a Troll ?? LOL

Par,
I honestly laughed out loud when I saw you get called a troll.
They really should get their facts straight.

Eye for an eye.......but make him suffer. Shoot him with a bow that won't kill him just hurt him, then stab him 95 times making the 95th the deadly stab

He's way beyond therapy or reform so he should be used as a target for crossbow enthusiasts everywhere

Indeed I agree Misty. That is a lot of anger. I wonder what spurred this. He had to literally hate her to perform an act of this magnitude and ferocity. I am curious to see what kind of score he would get on "Most Evil". It's an excellent show and it really delves into the psyche of some of these people. I am not sure why they still work, but he has an excellent breakdown of what motivates them, and what classification they are by the end of his interviews and testing.

Thank you, Jimmy , and I was wondering the same thing myself about where the anger came from to do something so heinous. Yeeeshh! I was afraid to even talk back to my Grandmother, let alone bludgeon, stab, or shoot her with a crossbow. I love the show "Most Evil" and I think if he were profiled, there would have to be a whole new level just for him and I would be interested to hear what the host of the show thinks motivated him to act this way

He would probably say something like this:
Jasper Smiddie is an anomaly, his reasons for murder are muddled. He wished to upset his uncle, so he killed his grandmother. It would seem to reason that he would have preyed on his uncle, but he problem felt to weak and timid to attempt something of that magnitude. He is a normal case study that must build up, but his fury when unleashed is anything but normal. I rate him a 13. He is a psychopathic Murderer who kills out of rage. On a side note he killed his Grandmother who was the only person who would take him in and care for him. She showed him love and compassion when others would not, so in addition to being a psychopath he is indeed a doushe bag.

OMG, You so nailed that one!!! And of course, he would have to show a picture of him as a small child battering his sister's Barbie collection with a wrench while this commentary goes on and then him sitting by himself in a chair in school, being the one not picked for kickball for added affect.
