Brittney Baxter was toy shopping at an Atlanta Walmart when a man grabbed her, tried to put his hand over her mouth and take her out the store.

But she remembered her Stranger Danger training.

"Yeah, I was just like trying to do like this and kick as hard as I can," Brittney said.

The man dropped Brittney and ran out of the Walmart. Police wasted no time in looking at Walmart's surveillance video. It not only captured the chilling incident, it also captured the suspect's getaway car which was later pulled over.

update:

BREMEN, Ga. —

Channel 2 Action News has learned that the man who allegedly attempted to kidnap a 7-year-old girl from a Bremen Walmart in West Georgia is a confessed killer.

Thomas Woods, 25, of Austell, was out on parole for a voluntary manslaughter conviction when Walmart store surveillance video captured footage of Brittney Baxter fighting off the alleged abductor.

The girl was in the toy aisle when investigators said Woods came up behind her and grabbed her, police said.

Woods, who was arrested shortly after the incident, is facing kidnapping charges and insisted he was not in the Walmart and that he did not harm anyone.

Geez! This is so scary. This is why I never take my eyes off my child when I'm in public.

I'm so relieved the little girl escaped. Not many do. I also have to admit to being pissed as hell with whomever she was there with for letting her be unattended, especially at her age.

I know they teach kids the "stranger danger", but to be honest, I don't know exactly what they teach them. I tell my daughter that if someone tries to grab her and take her, she needs to try to lay flat on the ground and kick, and scream as loud as she can. Of course, I hope she never has to put those actions into use.

I figure if my daughter is screaming loudly, I would hopefully hear her. If I approached the person trying to nab my kid, someone might want to say a little prayer for them.

I hope my child is never in this situation, and since I don't let her out of my site, it's not likely, but I can't be with her 24/7, so I want her to know what to do.
