According to Chino Valley police, on February 4 the two victims and a third brother were playing with a Frisbee in the street when the toy landed outside a fenced yard containing three dogs.

The 4-year-old boy came within inches of the fence to retrieve the Frisbee and was attacked by two of the three dogs. The dogs began biting the child in the face, head and upper body and tried to pull him through the fence into the yard, police said.

When the attack began, one brother ran to get help and the 8-year-old ran to help the victim.

While trying to pull his younger brother away from the fence, the 8-year-old was also attacked by the dogs.

The boys' parents were able to get the children to safety and call for medical personnel.

I hope the kids aren't afraid of dogs after this. I also hope that 4-year-old is okay and wish for continued healing on the 8-year-old. The woman had to hear her dogs going nuts in the yard.

dogs are territorial. This could happen to anyone who has a fenced dog.

Just one more reason our prisons are full. It's a civil matter, not criminal.

I would also point out that many parents who allow their children to wander near hazards are charged with neglect, or if tragedy occurs, more serious charges. Why is a 4-year-old being allowed to play unsupervised. Of course, such charges would be ridiculous and unjust, but people, especially poor and people of color are charged every day for doing exactly what the parents of the 4-year-old did.
