Lowell was looking to target random people outside a Cleveland library. As it turns out, the hit man Lowell tried to hire was an undercover FBI agent. Lowell offered the agent $730 in jewelry or cash for the killing of a victim of at least 12 years but "preferably 14 years old or older" outside a library near a playground in her hometown.

Lowell faces a hearing next Tuesday to determine whether she will be given the opportunity to post bail or be detained without bond pending resolution of the case.

Lowell has reportedly compared animal-welfare work to the liberation of World War II concentration camps.

Obviously, that person doesn't deal well with the real world. Last time I heard about it (admittedly a few years ago; from a friend at the PD where I used to work), the price of a hit was about 25-30 thousand. I doubt that it's gone down significantly since then. If you get a price of $800, you've either got a total wastoid who's strung out on something and will botch it, or you've got a cop.

Sounds about right. I would actually charge way more than that. I am indeed taking all the risk and dealing with an ameteur. I would need to get out of town quickly. Plus I would not off some guys wife just because he slept around on her, or she wanted the life insurance. I am pretty sure that always gets traced back. She would crack under the pressure and take me down with her.
