I was looking up some stats the other day and came across some disturbing numbers.
South Africa is the #1 country per capita. Over 1 in every 1,000 have been raped. The United States in #1 in raw totals, 95,000 reported rapes.
Millions of years of life and we still act like animals. Woman who are raped are treated like objects to be used, not a person to be respected. This is not about feminism or woman's liberation, it is about men (in general) treating the woman around them like non-persons.
The law is failing in some nations, the society is failing in others, but over-all the only answer to these troubling numbers of reported rapes is for men (fathers, sons, step-fathers, husbands, boyfriends and brothers) to treat the woman who cross their path in life as he would any equal, valuable human being. Until that is pounded into the heads of the world as a whole, woman will continue to be mistreated and victimized.
The Judicial System, at least in the United States, needs to start putting the current predators away for life. In the more lawless nations, the assistance of other nations with their weakness in law enforcement.
The real solution lies in the minds and emotions of men. The choice to hurt a woman or anyone in this way is one that must be met with all the tools we have to stop it.
